Torrelavega
The Torresport Hotel is located in the city of Torrelavega, capital of the Besaya region. Nestled in the lower part of the valleys of the rivers Saja and Besaya, Torrelavega is an eminently industrial municipality and occupies the second place in Cantabria in terms of population, only preceded by Santander.
Nowadays, it is an important city of 60,000 inhabitants that has all the communities and services needed to live comfortably, just ten minutes from the coast of Suances and very close to other outstanding towns such as Santillana del Mar and Comillas. Its communications with Santander, Palencia, Bilbao and Oviedo also make it an obligatory stop for many visitors.
The festivities of the Virgen Grande are the most emblematic of the city. They are held over 10 days, around 15 August, and their finale is one of the most striking spectacles in Cantabria: the Gala Floral, a unique and multitudinous parade of floats, declared to be of Tourist Interest.
